Pen Pals from the Past collects information from adult purchasers so we can process payment, personalize letters, mail orders, provide support, and improve the service. We do not create child accounts, and children should not submit information directly.
We may collect purchaser name, email, billing and shipping details, recipient child first name or nickname, age, reading level, interests, gift details, topics to avoid, order history, support messages, and reply details submitted by an adult.
We use this information to complete checkout, prepare personalized letters, ship orders, send service emails, handle cancellations or refunds, prevent misuse, and understand which offers and ads are working.
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on this site. Stripe may collect and process payment, tax, fraud-prevention, and payout information according to its own policies.
We share information only with service providers needed to run the business, such as payment processors, form tools, email providers, hosting providers, print/mail vendors, and analytics or advertising platforms.
The service is purchased and managed by adults. A child may write or draw a reply, but replies should be submitted or mailed with adult involvement. We do not knowingly collect online account information directly from children.
We use Google Analytics, and may use Meta Pixel or similar tools, to understand visits, engagement, button use, checkout progress, and ad performance. These tools may use cookies or browser information. We do not send letter-intake form contents to analytics tools. Learn how Google uses information from sites that use its services. You can use browser controls or platform settings to limit tracking.
We keep order and fulfillment records as long as needed to provide the service, comply with business and tax obligations, resolve disputes, and improve future letters.
You can request corrections, cancellation, or deletion of non-required information by contacting hello@penpalsmail.com. Some order, tax, fraud-prevention, or payment records may need to be retained.
